During the India Mobile Congress last week in Delhi, the 5G telecom services were introduced in India. Currently, Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Bangalore, and eight other cities provide Airtel’s 5G services.

According to reports, Airtel’s Chief Technology Officer, Randeep Sekhon, indicated that iPhone users in the nation would soon be able to connect to Airtel’s 5G networks. The story quotes Sekhon as adding, “We have established up unique networks for them to test on; Apple is currently testing 5G in India.” The article noted that to enable 5G, the vendor of mobile devices must release a software upgrade.

Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, pledged to roll out 5G services at a reasonable cost throughout India by the end of 2023. Airtel 5G has launched in eight places in the meantime.

Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Bangalore. By March of next year, more cities are anticipated to receive the services, with nationwide coverage guaranteed by March 2024. As soon as the 5G auctions were over, the corporation placed orders with Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung for 5G equipment.
