At a press event on Wednesday, Apple unveiled the new iPhone 14 series, three new Apple Watch models, an update to its well-known AirPods product line, and a function that could save lives when there is no phone service. The starting prices for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are the same as last year at $999 and $1099, respectively. It was widely expected by analysts that Apple would increase the cost of the pricier models by $100.

Ben Wood, chief analyst at market research firm CCS Insight, said: “It is noteworthy that Apple has maintained year-on-year pricing parity on the new iPhone 14 devices in the US.” We had predicted that inflation, rising production and component costs, as well as additional expenditures like higher shipping, would force Apple to raise its retail prices. For Apple, getting people to upgrade their gadgets—especially the iPhone, which continues to be its flagship product—is always fraught with peril. This year’s work may be made more challenging by general economic unease, such as worries about an impending recession.

The Series 8 model, which starts at $399, is in the center. The Series 8 of Apple’s smartwatch is design to encourage consumers to maintain an active lifestyle. Apple also highlighted the Watch’s capabilities for women’s health, including updated tools for tracking menstrual cycles that may forecast ovulation.

One of Apple’s most notable recent breakout items, the AirPods Pro, was unveil in its most recent iteration. Better than the first generation, the new AirPods Pro offer six hours of listening time on a single charge. Now that it can produce noise, both the casing and each pair of headphones are design to aid in finding it. Additionally, the volume may be adjust by lightly swiping up and down on the headphones.

The upgraded dynamic noise-cancelling technology in AirPods Pro allows them to cancel out twice as much noise as the original model. A new adaptive transparency mode, meanwhile, promises to reduce loud environmental noise.

Apple did not introduce any ground-breaking new hardware, but at least one new feature may, under some circumstances, transform the way people use their devices.

According to Apple, the new Emergency SOS via Satellite feature was create and engineer exclusively for iPhone 14 devices to connect to satellites when not near a terrestrial tower. According to Apple, who claim that it has been in development for years. Users will be able to send and receive information to request emergency aid by pointing their handset toward a satellite that the phone will help locate. The company claimed to have developed a quick text compression technology to shorten messages that typically take 15 seconds.
